Head down to Bondi for a night amongst the stars as you enjoy the warm summer evenings at the Openair Cinemas.
Each year in January, Sydneysiders are treated to an amazing program of cinema, live music, food drinks and good times at Cadigal Green at the University of Sydney.
The Openair Cinemas is a great way to spend an evening with friends. Old and new movies are screened with dramas, comedies and action movies to suit every taste. Gates open at 6pm each night and the films will start just after the sun goes down (around 8pm). While you wait for the film to start, grab a seat, something to eat and a drink and relax as you watch the sunset over the water.
General admission tickets gives access to the site but does not include seating. Picnics are permitted, but BYO alcohol is not. Please leave glassware and knives at home. You are welcome to bring along a picnic rug and seating to relax on the grass. Seating is also available for hire if you don’t want to bring your own. VIP tickets are also available which includes table service, bean lounger, cushion, blanket, ice-cream, popcorn and a glass of wine included.
Screenings are dog friendly, but just make sure you have your dog under your control at all times (leashed is best). The venue is smoke free for the convenience of all attendees.
Most tickets sell out well before the event, so make sure to secure your tickets early. You can get to the event via bus or train. Buses to the University of Sydney depart from Stand ‘C’ at Railway Square, outside Central Station in the Sydney CBD. The University of Sydney is a 10 minute walk from Redfern Train Station, a major rail interchange.
