Sydney Beaches

Sydney is home to some of the most amazing & popular beaches in Australia, just part of what makes the city such a wonderful destination.

From iconic surf beaches to sheltered bays, all of these beaches have one thing in common – they make for a great day out!

Sydney Beaches To Visit, Best Dog-Friendly, Quiet & Secluded Map List

Start the adventure at perhaps what is Australia’s most famous beach – Bondi Beach. This world-renowned beach is known for its amazing views and a great community that comprises cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops and hotels. The buzz that characterises this idyllic beach setting has earned it the name the ‘Bondi Bubble’, and it is not uncommon to see many people flock its sands during summer weekends.

If you are looking for a bit more of a quieter place to retreat to, then Bronte Beach is your go-to destination. This beach is an easy 40-minute walk from Bondi, and is best loved for its excellent surf conditions. Its ability to throw up a nice swell makes it popular amongst local surfers. Swimmers, on the other hand, make their way to the rock pool at the southern end of the beach where families will often be seen enjoying themselves. Other amenities available at the beach include picnic and BBQ facilities.

Visit Manly Beach and experience the beach holiday of a lifetime. Here, you can swim in the ocean or proceed to the serene harbour. Alternatively, make your way to the relatively small Shelly Beach. This is a popular spot where you can learn how to snorkel. Manly is also home to a craft market, superb shops and a vibrant food scene that boasts plenty of fresh seafood.

Camp Cove is yet another incredibly beautiful beach tucked away just five minutes from Watsons Bay. This tiny kid-friendly beach is loved for the calm waters that make it easy for kids to enjoy. The beach also serves as a training site for divers with plenty of places to marvel at the marine life.

Other notable beaches in Sydney include Nielsen Park, Gordons Bay, Balmoral Beach and Marley Beach.

Remember to carry your sunscreen; especially during summer when temperatures are at an all-time high.
