Airshows Downunder Shellharbour (previously known as Wings Over Illawarra) is held in Illawarra on the NSW south coast, just over an hour south of Sydney. Situated in a picturesque location with an amazing backdrop of the Illawarra escarpment, it is Australia’s favourite regional airshow and the only major airshow experience within easy reach of Sydney.
Experience the thrill of the flying displays, get up close and personal with historic, military, modern and aerobatic aircraft on the ground and have a great family day out with free carnival rides, market stalls and dining options.
Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2026 Dates, Tickets & Program
Airshows Downunder Shellharbour plans to feature a flying display that is second to none! The airshow will also entertain with free carnival rides for the kids, food trucks galore, static aircraft displays, roving entertainment, classic car exhibits and helicopter joy flights! You’ll also access the HARS Aviation Museum to get close to some spectacular vintage aircraft.
Bring the kids and grandkids. Not only will the sky be full of loud and exciting aircraft, but your airshow ticket price includes entry to all the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) aircraft open for inspection, unlimited carnival rides, classic cars and motorbikes, military equipment and machinery and much more. The whole family is sure to have a terrific time.
A major aim of Airshows Downunder Shellharbour is to inspire younger Australians to consider careers in the aviation industry. Airshows Downunder Shellharbour has partnered with them to present the School & Careers Open Day. The Open Day will provide a unique opportunity for students to access information on aviation career opportunities from various aviation exhibitors, commercial and defence aviation, government regulators and industry organisations.
Exhibitors include the Australian Defence Force and defence industry companies, flight training schools, maintenance organisations, universities, TAFE NSW, and other accredited training organisations.
Attendees should dress appropriately for this outdoor event, with plenty of sunscreen and hats for warm days as there is little shade. Earplugs are available on-site, but bringing your own for younger patrons may be necessary. Picnics can be brought in; however, alcohol is not permitted.
There will also be plenty of food and drink stalls inside the venue where you can purchase lunch and a cold drink. If you intend to sit and watch the flying displays, you can bring your own chair.
Due to the large number of visitors attending Airshows Downunder Shellharbour and the absence of large parking areas at the airport, visitors travelling by car must park in the designated park-and-ride location. Onsite parking is only available to buses, coaches, Gold Pass holders, and accredited disabled permit holders.
Airshows Downunder Shellharbour will deliver one of the most exciting and diverse flying display programs ever seen in Australia.
Wings over Illawarra program
Could you please provide a link to the program for the weekend to enable me to determine what & when things are on. I have already purchased tickets.
Kind regards
Hi Maree,
I actually updated our information just this week with everything that i could find, but it seems like a lot of the information is still marked as to be confirmed.
The closest thing to what you are looking for can be found at https://wingsoverillawarra.com.au/attractions/flying-program/, but as i mentioned above, all of the times are marked as TBC – so the only information is what aircraft will be flying on that given day.
There is some extra information on what displays/exhibits there will be, but all i can suggest is checking back closer to the event for updated information – as I will also be doing.
Thanks
Michael
