Cole Classic

The Cole Classic is an annual sporting event held in Sydney’s most famous northern beaches, with the events take place over a weekend in February to benefit charity.

The kick-off happens on Saturday, with a 7km and 10km fun run beginning at the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club and end at the Manly Lifesaving Club.

The event was established by the Cole family, with the objective of challenging the body and mind to get fit and swim or run a reasonable distance. The first Cole Classic was held back in 1983, and today, it’s one of Sydney’s biggest sporting events held in tribute of Graham Cole and his legacy, as well as his passion for swimming in the ocean.

The family established the online fundraising tools to help raise funds for various charities benefiting children and cancer patients, among others.

The runs are followed by the famous swim events the next day, known as the Cole Classic, which is held at Shelly Beach. There are 1km, 2km, and 5km swim races which finish fronting the Manly Lifesaving Club.
