Cole Classic

The Cole Classic is an annual sporting event held on Sydney’s most famous northern beaches, with the events taking place over a weekend in February to benefit charity.

The kick-off happens on Saturday, with a 7km and 10km fun run beginning at the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club and ending at the Manly Lifesaving Club.

The Cole family established the event to challenge the body and mind to get fit, swim, or run a reasonable distance. The first Cole Classic was held back in 1983, and today, it’s one of Sydney’s most significant sporting events held in tribute to Graham Cole and his legacy, as well as his passion for swimming in the ocean.

The family established online fundraising tools to help raise funds for various charities benefiting children and cancer patients.

The runs are followed by the famous swim events the next day, known as the Cole Classic, held at Shelly Beach. There are 1km, 2km, and 5km swim races that finish fronting the Manly Lifesaving Club.
