Sydney Suburbs – Manly

Welcome to Manly, one of Australia’s most famous coastal suburbs.

It’s home to Manly Beach, a beach area iconic for the dozens of beaches, coves, and harbours to explore.

Manly Attractions, Things To Do, Tourist Landmarks & Beaches, Sydney

The main Manly Beach is a top tourist attraction, featuring long stretches of sand from Queenscliff Beach, North Steyne Beach, down through South Steyne Beach.

This incredible side of the Australian East Coast is the backdrop for many families’ unforgettable days in the sun. There’s lots of room for water and beach sports, too. Take home a piece of Manly Beach with you by shopping at The Corso; a pedestrian area accessible via a ferry ride. Surf and gift shops are abundant here!

Fairy Bower and Shelly Beach, just next door, are known for their sandy beaches and rock pools. There are several beaches located around the peninsula’s harbour, with Shelly Beach less busy than Manly Beach. So if you’re looking some peaceful time, this area is highly recommended.

There are many other great attractions to explore by foot and by car. However, the most scenic way to enjoy Manly is via the Manly Ferry. It’s been around since the 19th century, which is when ferries were first operational in the area. The ferry itself is well-maintained, and overall, a relaxing way to get around.
