The Sydney CBD is the main commercial centre within the city. Due to its significance in the country’s early history, it is one of the most developed regions across Australia.
Geographically, it extends from Circular Quay to the Central Train Station in the northern and southern regions respectively. In its east to west axis, the CBD’s boundaries include Hyde Park, the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens and The Domain.

Make sure to also check out the many cultural establishments located in the CBD; including the Museum of Sydney, Customs House, The Australian Museum, as well as the Powerhouse Museum. Art lovers are not forgotten too, as The Museum of Contemporary Art is a short distance to the north of the CBD.
