In 2018, the Sydney Opera House will host its 6th All About Women event. This event celebrates ideas and themes around feminism and empowerment for women both in Australia and internationally.
The All About Women festival features a range of remarkable guests presenting on the latest thinking on intersectionality, the #metoo movement, climate change and the politics of singledom and relationships.
Edwine Thorsby has curated the program that has expanded beyond talks and presentations. Each year, the program offers discussions, live podcasts, panels and workshops. The celebration of food and drink is also celebrated through demonstrations and lessons in pickling and gin distilling. These lessons also highlight the themes and ideas around how food brings people together.
The program line up is designed to make visitors think and push your boundaries. All About Women is a vibrant festival that asks questions about gender, justice and equality. The program is necessary for anyone curious about the past and future of feminism.
Each year, the festival has over 20 unique events to choose from. An inspiring line-up of female-identifying storytellers, thinkers and game changers are ready to hit the important topics head on in a thought provoking way.
Visitors are welcomed to join the panel of incisive commentators to look at the emboldened ways feminism is responding politics and world events. There are also more humorous talks which are equal parts informative, uncomfortable and giggle-inducing, breaking down taboos.
Come along to the All About Women festival to celebrate how far we’ve come, and look forward to an empowered future.
