This beloved meat-filled event will feature bands, beer, barbecues, and so much more!
This festival isn’t limited to those over eighteen, with every purchase of an adult ticket coming with the option of a free children’s ticket. Unite with fellow meat enthusiasts for a day of drinking, eating, relaxing, and learning.

Test your skills against fellow visitors to the festival in several barbequing contests, with several thousands of dollars in prizes to be won. Teams from across the country battle in the big drawcard of the contest schedule – the A&E Sydney Barbeque Wars – with cash and other prizes on offer.
Explore a wealth of flavours and aromas against a backdrop of live bands and performances. Connect with fellow butchers, barbeques, cooks, and meat enthusiasts from across Australia and all over the world, and replenish your thirst with an ice-cold beer at one of the event’s many drink vendors.
With two full-on days of expert demonstrations, barbeque and grilling competitions, exciting expos and live entertainment, the Meatstock Festival is a highly anticipated event not to be missed!
Sydney Showground is in Sydney Olympic Park. Sydney Olympic Park is located about 17 kilometres west of the CBD. You can get there by car via the A4 (and there’s onsite parking available), or you can take public transport with train, bus and ferry options available. The nearest train station is Olympic Park station on the Olympic Park line that begins at Lidcombe station.
The Meatstock Festival is a music and barbecue festival in Sydney that takes place every May for 2 days at the Sydney Showground.
The main highlights during the two full days are centred around barbecue, grilling contests, and butcher wars, while bringing together some of the country’s finest and most unique food vendors. There will be more than 50 teams of pit masters and 20 butchers participating in the competitions, all of whom are vying for the grand prize of several thousand dollars.
It’s the ultimate destination for carnivores; plus, live music from Australian rock bands will be played throughout the weekend. Festival tickets include access to the live bands, demos, and expos throughout the event. Guests will need to pay for their own food and drink separately at each booth. The dozens of vendors will have their own offerings, with most plates costing $10-$25; some will offer jumbo and mega boxes that can be shared by several people. Kids below 12 are free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult. Keep in mind that the nature of barbecue takes time to cook, and that there may be occasions where you may have to line up or wait to get your order. The busiest hours during the festival are usually from 1-2PM. ATM’s will be available, and it’s a cash-only event.
The event will be from 11AM to 9PM on Saturday, and 10AM to 6PM on Sunday. The Sydney Showground is located within the Sydney Olympic Park in the heart of Sydney. Attendees taking a car may park their vehicle at the many parking stations nearby. However, getting to the Sydney Olympic Park is most efficient via bus from Strathfield, Lidcombe, and Parramatta.
