The Mother’s Day Classic is a walk/run fun run which is held in Sydney in May each year.
The Mother’s Day Classic is an important fundraising initiative which raises millions of dollars each year for breast cancer research.
There are 4 distances in the Mother’s Day Classic including a 4km walk, 4km run, 7km walk, 8km run. The Course starts near Martin Place on Macquarie Street, participants will head south along Hyde Park, will then make a U-turn back up College street and north along Wooloomooloo Bay and then back down Mrs. Macquaries Road and finishing at the Domain Gardens. For those who can’t travel into the Sydney CBD, there is a sister event held in Western Sydney, in Paramatta Park.
There is an information marquee at the assembly area and bag storage for participants. Prams are permitted on the course, however entrants who bring along a pram will be required to start at the rear of their group. Please also note that dogs are not permitted to take part in the fun run.
There will also be a range of entertainment for participants and supporters at the conclusion of the event including heaps of food ventrose at Domain, roving performers, face painting, jumping castles and live musical entertainment.
There will be a number of road closures around the course including Art Gallery Road, College Street, and Boomerang Place and Yurong Parkway.
