The Dulwich Hill Village Fair is an annual neighbourhood festival showcasing the best of Dulwich in arts, music, and food. The one-day event is held every September around Dulwich Hill, with activities planned from morning to afternoon.
There will be a wide range of market stalls selling ethical clothing, handicrafts, home wares, jewellery, and kids’ toys. There will also be several vendors selling local food including coffee, pastries, cakes, fresh produce, deli items, cheese, roast chicken, and homemade preserves among others. Local cafes, cheese makers, butchers, and local businesses come together to showcase the various fresh food and produce that Dulwich is well-known for.
The festivities begin in the early morning, with bands and dances welcoming all attendees. The official welcome and keynote addresses are set at noon, followed by an afternoon full of entertainment for adults and kids alike. The Kids’ Play Park is a designated area for children and will feature creative dance, martial arts, garden games, and a jumping castle among others. Various renowned local entertainment groups set the stage for a full day of wholesome fun; past performers have included the Redfern Dance Company, Big Sky Mountain, Fox Company, and Dande and the Lion. There will also be artistic demonstrations and yoga for adults.
Dulwich Hill is located at Marrickville Road and Seaview Street. Entrance is free for all. Getting here from Sydney takes around 25 minutes by car via the A4 although it’s quicker to take the trains.
