Art & About Sydney is a program that runs all year round which exhibits temporary art pieces in public spaces around Sydney.
You will find a range of interesting artworks and installations in unexpected spaces as you wander around the CBD.
Art & About Sydney first started as a month-long festival, but due to its popularity, has now transformed into a year-round exhibition with a huge calendar of projects. There are many thought provoking art pieces as well as major installations which celebrates the unique creativity and imagination of Australian artists.
For those wanting to be a part of Art & About Sydney, expressions of interest are open to create new works all year round. The city is looking for pieces of artwork that will surprise and excite visitors and locals alike. The types of works can be diverse with exhibitions, film, immersive theatre, installations, interactive pieces, murals and live performance art sought.
Many of the artworks are located in the Pitt Street Mall, Customs House, The Rocks, Hyde Park, Waterloo and Martin Place, just to name a few.
So get out and about and take a walk around the Sydney CBD and check out the amazing art pieces on display. Most displays are free to view.
