Parklands Food Fest is an event celebrating all kinds of homegrown produce from Western Sydney. Professionals, produce purveyors, chefs, and foodies alike all attend the event each year. It features a wide range of food as well as educational and informational workshops.
There are over 50 food stalls during the event featuring dishes from all around the world including tacos, pho, pizza, falafels, fattoush, burgers, macaroons, waffles, and more. The interesting workshops impart useful tips on topics such as gardening, keeping chickens, and cooking. Local craft beers and spirits are also included. Live music care of talented local musicians will be the entertainment during the event. Special kids’ activities and attractions will be available for the young ones including inflatables, rock climbing, and circus acts.
Parklands Food Fest events in the past have included appearances from celebrity chefs such as Karen Martin, Dan Hong, and Matt Preston who engage the audience in cooking demonstrations and share their recipes.
Festival goers are recommended to bring a refillable drink bottle (there will be free water filling stations at the venue), sunscreen, a hat, reusable cup, umbrella in case of rain, and bags for carrying your purchases.
The free events take place at Lizard Log Park each year during September, from 10AM to 4PM.
Lizard Log Park is located in Abbotsbury at the Western Sydney Parklands. There is free parking onsite, and entrance is free. Festival goers may also opt to take the free shuttle bus that travels through the route that includes Lizard Log Park, Fairfield Train Station, and the Stocklands Mall at the Wetherill Park. Individuals who require accessible parking will need to inform the traffic controller and provide a valid disability parking permit in order to be taken to the next available parking space. Dogs are permitted in the event venue provided that they are kept on a leash at all times. Lizard Log Park has an ATM, and most vendors will only accept cash.
