Newcastle 500

The Newcastle 500 is a supercar motor racing event usually held at the Newcastle Street Circuit in November each year.

Attracting thousands of visitors, the Newcastle 500 runs over three days with qualifying races that decide the grid for the 250km race held on Sunday.

The venue for the Newcastle 500 is a street circuit in the city of Newcastle, consisting of a 14-turn, 2.6-kilometre circuit which runs past Newcastle Beach and Shortland Esplanade. The course includes a sharp hairpin turn on Nobbys Road and is known to be quite bumpy and challenging.

For visitors attending the race, there are trackside and grandstand tickets available for purchase. Trackside will have you up close to the action and you can also wander along the course to find the best vantage point. Grandstand tickets give the purchaser will guarantee you an undercover seat to keep you out of the sun, or the rain. Special Pit Lane Walk tickets are also available for those who would like to get a closer look at the supercars participating in the race.

This is a family-friendly event; kids under 12 enter free with each adult admission. There will be fun things for kids to enjoy, including a jumping castle, face painting, and live entertainment. Visitors may also be able to get an autograph from their favourite drivers.

Take public transport to Newcastle, with Central Coast & Newcastle Line and the Hunter Line passing through the township and the closest station being the Newcastle Interchange. Paid parking is available at Civic West Car Park (King Street) and Harbour Park Car Park (Argyle Street) if you drive to Newcastle.
