The Top Dog Film Festival is film event that was launched in 2017 to celebrate the important bonds between people and dogs.

The Top Dog Film Festival will screen a number of short, independent films that relate to dogs and humans with a variety of funny, thoughtful and inspiring stories.


Each year, a number of short films are screened during the festival which celebrate the relationships between people and dogs. Gather up your friends and experience the uniqueness of these independent films. Festival tickets can be purchased online or at the box office of your chosen cinema. Get in quick as many sessions will sell out.

The Top Dog Film Festival is suitable for people of all ages, as the films are exempt from classification. Children are welcome to attend the sessions as the rating is comparable to a G rating. Nudity, violence, coarse language, drug references and sexual references are not permitted in the films.

The Top Dog Film Festival will screen in a number of theatres in Sydney including the Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne and the Randwick Ritz in Randwick, the film festival will then move to other venues around Australia including screenings in Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Townsville, Brisbane and Peth.

If you are interested in submitting your film, organisers are interested in films with a running time of 30-40 minutes (or shorter) and you can submit your film electronically.
