Olympic Park will once again host the supercharged Australian Badminton Open. The tournament will be a six day intense competition that will invite players from around the world to compete for the ultimate prize or glory and total prize money of $150,000 US.
The Badminton championships have been held since 1975 and each year invite more and more crowds to watch this exciting game. In 2018, the Australian Badminton Open is the ninth tournament of the 2018 BWF World Tour and also part of the Australian Open championships.
There will be many countries represented at the Australian Badminton Open including Australia, China, England, Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan. There will be a number of matches scheduled throughout the tournament including Women’s and Mens Singles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
There will be 6 days of competition with Qualifying Rounds followed by Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and then the championship finals. Tickets can be purchased for each round of events, but as this is an elimination event, it is not possible to book a ticket to see a particular player, as the schedule for the next day can only be announced on the day prior.
