The theatre has also hosted international productions from both Germany and Britain. So, it comes as no surprise that the Roslyn Packer Theatre is home to iconic festivals held in the city. Most notable among these is the Sydney Festival, the Dungog Film Festival, as well as the Sydney Writers’ Festival.
It’s important to mention that the theatre was named in honour of Roslyn Packer, an individual who dedicated her life to forwarding the arts culture in the country. In addition to Roslyn’s name, the theatre also commemorates Ruth Cracknell and Richard Wherrett, after whom the function room and rehearsal room are named respectively.
The Roslyn Packer Theatre is located at 2 Hickson Road in Walsh Bay. It is easily accessible using bus routes 311, 324 and 325. Patrons can also take a ferry or train to Circular Quay or Wynyard, from where the theatre is just a 15-minute walk.
