Don’t miss the Sydney Duathlon that starts and finishes at Sydney Olympic Park. If you’re not sure what a duathlon is, it’s a triathlon minus the swim leg.
For spectators, this is the perfect event to get outdoors and see competitors running and cycling their way around three different courses that pass by ANZ Stadium, the Sydney Super Dome and the Sydney Aquatic Centre.
The Sydney Duathlon attracts hundreds of competitors each year. Many high-class professional athletes are on display in addition to the everyday competitors who want to challenge themselves. Come for a relaxing day in one of Sydney’s most renowned and beautiful sporting precincts. Support dedicated athletes as they compete for individual glory.
There is the shorter Sprint distance event, as well as a longer Super Sprint for those who are really looking to push themselves. There’s also the ‘Miniman’ event for kids, so there’s an event for everybody. If you want to complete, check the Sydney Duathlon event schedule for entry fees, starting times and other important information.
Get a taste of the action this year by either watching or competing in the Sydney Duathlon. Witness incredible athletes from across Australia or put your own muscles to the test.
Sydney Olympic Park is located about 17 kilometres west of the CBD. You can get there by car via the A4 (and there’s onsite parking available), or you can take public transport with train, bus and ferry options available. The nearest train station is Olympic Park station on the Olympic Park line that begins at Lidcombe station.
The Sydney Duathlon is one of Sydney’s premier sporting events which takes place every winter. It is hosted by the Hills Tri Club, where four open sanctioned duathlon races are held at the International Regatta Centre located in Penrith.
The one-day event is ideal for athletes who want to stay fit during winter through competitive yet fun races. Around 220 athletes compete in the duathlon each year in the non-drafting sprint, draft legal sprint, and junior races; all of which are electronically timed. The miniman is exclusively for kids aged 7 to 11 years old. Race entry is open to all levels but interested athletes are required to meet the minimum age restrictions dictated by the Triathlon Australia Participant Policy Document.
Sydney Duathlon Attendees or spectators bringing their own cars may park at the P5c car park, which is best accessed via the Hills Road. It is recommended to pre-book parking online to get a guaranteed spot.
