The Nurses Walk is a popular laneway located right behind the Museum of Contemporary Art. It is one of the most visible spots close to The Rocks and is packed with art galleries and restaurants.
History has shown that the laneway was a shortcut that provided access to the first hospital constructed in the colonial era. The Nurses Walk was established in 1979 to commemorate the nurses who worked in the area’s hospitals between 1788 and 1816.
