Museum of Freemasonry

The Museum of Freemasonry invites visitors to explore the hidden secrets of ancient Freemasonry with a collection of items dating back as far as two centuries. This exciting opportunity also allows visitors to learn more about the architectural heritage of the building where the museum is housed.

The museum takes pride in showcasing exhibits that enhance the knowledge and understanding of Freemasonry through its rich past. In doing so, visitors can better appreciate Masonic heritage while giving it the context of a cultural identity that some can identify with.

Museum of Freemasonry Sydney, Address, Opening Times & Tour Prices

The museum is open to the general public, but there are areas of the museum that are not available for general visitation. One of the best ways to enjoy your experience at the Museum of Freemasonry is to take a guided tour, available on weekdays between 11am and 2pm. Be sure to make a booking ahead of time.

The advantage of taking a guided tour is that they allow visitors to tour areas of the museum that are otherwise inaccessible for general visitors. Note that guided tours are only available for groups of four people or more.

Once tickets have been obtained from the reception, the tour begins with a walk through the museum. There are different rooms with beautifully displayed items and collectibles. Look out for the expanding collection along the corridor.

Your tour guide will point out the importance of some of the collectibles and history of the building. The meeting rooms are an exciting part of the tour. There is a lodge with rooms whose original decor dates back to eras gone by. Another room boasts a lavish design whose experience is quite surreal. Other attractions include the Gallery of Grand Masters, a library, and an archive centre.

The Museum of Freemasonry is at 66 Goulburn Street in Sydney.
