You will be welcomed to the park by the local swagman who ushers you in to experience the best of the bush. The park is home to more than 1,700 animals that belong to hundreds of species.

Featherdale Wildlife Park experiences are as varied as the different animal species on location with the opportunity to join the daily zookeeper walkabout. The Daily zookeeper walkabout is a 45-minue fun-packed tour of the park, and provides great insights into the park’s history.

The private animal encounters are also a great way to get up close with your favourite Australian animal. Private reptile encounters include the bearded dragon, small snakes, large snakes and the shingle-back. If you prefer mammals, close encounters include kangaroos, wallabies, the ringtail possum, wombats and sugar gliders. These private encounters last half an hour and the cost of each session is $149 and $199 respectively for the reptiles and mammals respectively.

These private encounters are inclusive of informative sessions with the animal trainers, a souvenir photo pack as well as a gift bag. For pre-bookings, visitors are required to get in touch at least 24 hours in advance.

For visitors who want a cuddly experience, nothing beats the personal koala experience. Get to spend some time with these fluffy creatures from as low as $20. This is also the perfect chance to talk to the koala keepers and get a souvenir photo pack. No bookings are required for these koala encounters.
