Capitol Square

Capitol Square is a business centre that takes great pride in combining the best of business, retail, hospitality, restaurants, entertainment and special function facilities – tapping into Sydney’s vibrant lifestyle.

The project is an integral part of the Capitol Theatre Heritage precinct, therefore, it comes as no surprise that the project revolved around the restoration of the historic buildings.

The location of Capitol Square at the site of the Colony’s original markets is very significant – “Hay Market” as it was then known. By the way, it is the name used to refer to the Chinatown precinct of the city, another key attraction in the area.

One of the most amazing features at the restored and renovated buildings is a well-thought-out outdoor space that comprises a glass galleria; located at what used to be Parker Street. This delightful and fully enclosed space provides stunning views of the western facade in Capitol Theatre; home to cafes, restaurants and a mezzanine.

Capitol Square prides itself in providing a great place to dine, get entertained and even explore the wonders of the tech world. Take a culinary journey of a lifetime with treats from the Millore Korean Fusion Restaurant, or to sample Thai cuisine at the Bangkok Thai Restaurant. Grab a decadent dessert at Charlie Rabbit Dessert Bar or wind up the evening with a latte at Starbucks Coffee.

There’s no shortage of entertainment options at Capitol Square either. The atrium mezzanine is home to one of the country’s largest entertainment centres. Visit Pukurika Photoland and enjoy the world of Japanese games and anime models. The other option is to visit the 18 suite Karaoke Centre; a magnificent facility that gives karaoke lovers the experience of a lifetime. Visit Technocity to get the latest hobby toys, anime, and an array of collectibles.

Capitol Square has multi-level underground parking that offers convenient paid parking for shoppers. There is also an independently owned hotel nearby for those who would like a base to see the best of everything Sydney has to offer.
