Head over to Martin Place and look at the beautiful tree that is lit up each night leading up to Christmas. There will be choir singers belting out Christmas tunes and plenty of Christmas cheer in the Pitt Street Mall. There will be thousands of overhead lights which will turn the street into a magical wonderland perfect for families with kids to enjoy.

If you want to travel out of the Sydney CBD, head out to the Hunter Valley Garden’s Christmas Lights Spectacular where there will be 8kms of illuminated pathways and sparkling lights stretched over 13 hectares. Photos with Santa and other fun activities are also on offer.

Last minute shopping for that elusive Christmas gift is also a popular past-time in Sydney and many of the larger shops and departments stores are open until 9pm (or even midnight) on Christmas Eve.

If you want to spend a night indoors, tune in to Channel 9 on TV to watch the Vision Australia Carols by Candlelight which is a yearly tradition. This huge event is a massive Christmas celebration where families come together to sing along to Christmas carols and features live music and singing performances of popular Australian artists, famous TV personalities and a choir.

There will be music playing in the CBD and people out and about enjoying the warm summer evenings, so bring your family to the many FREE events and enjoy Christmas Eve in Sydney!
