Vino Paradiso is a two-day wine and food festival held in the Rocks in November. It attracts thousands of visitors to one of Sydney’s most iconic historical areas, transforming the Rocks into a connoisseur’s paradise.
More than 100 exhibitor stalls at the festival offer a huge range of wine, food, coffee, craft beer, cider and spirits from some of the best-known companies from Australia and around the world. Wine is the focus of more than half of these stalls and you’ll be able to sample more than 1000 wines from 25 regions at Vino Paradiso. You can walk down the Rock’s cobblestoned laneways to explore everything that’s on offer. You’ll also be able to see grape-crushing demonstrations and participate in masterclasses to learn more about wines and wine-making.
Vino Paradiso is a family-friendly event with parents encouraged to bring their kids along. Festival activities like treasure hunts and other competitions will help to keep them entertained while you relax, soak up the atmosphere, eat and drink.
It is also a ‘cashless’ festival. You need to use special Vino Paradiso festival currency to buy any food or wine that you want to consume. You can get this currency by buying it in advance or can get it at the festival itself.
With the Rocks being just one kilometre from Sydney’s busy CBD, public transport is your best option for getting there. Regular bus, train and ferry services are available that will drop you off within walking distance of the Rocks. Take the train to Circular Quay and head in the direction of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Wynward Station is also just a 10 minute walk from the festival hub.
