Calling all video creators and video lovers from across the country! Video Junkee is a two-day festival held in July each year that celebrates video creativity and innovation.
Partnering with leading platforms like YouTube, Foxtel Now, Netflix, Buzzfeed and more, the Video Junkee festival will present a series of expos, talks, panels, screenings and awards.
Video enthusiasts are invited to come and hear from acclaimed and emerging Australian content creators for an informed discussion about all things do with video. The event will take place across three venues: the Carriageworks multi-arts centre in Eveleigh, the Dendy cinema at Newtown and the Golden Age Cinema in Surry Hills.
There will be several masterclasses on offer at Carriageworks to help aspiring content creators hone and develop their craft. Attendees will also get an insight into what types of videos will dominate future Australians screens. A stellar line-up of creators will also be on hand to hand to share their tips. Eveleigh (where the Carriageworks hub of the Video Junkee festival is located) is a suburb that’s about five kilometres south-west of the CBD via the Western Distributor/A4. You can also catch public transport via the train service. Macdonaldtown is the nearest station on the Main Suburban Line. From there, it’s just a short ten-minute walk.

Video Junkee takes place at Carriageworks in Redfern. Individual and multi-pass tickets are available. Patrons under the age of 15 should attend with an adult guardian; a photo ID will be required for all bars in Carriageworks. If you are driving to Carriageworks, parking is available in the nearby streets. Alternatively, the venue can easily be reached via taxi, train, or ferry.
