Tastings on Hastings

Tastings on Hastings is an annual culinary and cultural festival that’s held in late October each year in Port Macquarie.

Up to 20,000 people attend the weekend event and it’s a highlight of the year in the small coastal town. It is the premier food and wine festival on the New South Wales north coast.

The festival’s location overlooks the Hastings River and showcases the region’s best winegrowers, brewers, restaurants and cafes, as well as produce from local farmers. There’s bound to be something to suit everybody’s tastes in the wide variety of food and beverages available from the many exhibitor stalls at the event. You can also vote for your ‘favourite foodies’ to win one of the numerous awards that are on offer at the festival. These awards are announced during the festival.

The culinary delights at Tastings on Hastings will dazzle your senses and there’s also plenty of live entertainment to create a great atmosphere. It’s an ideal family festival with plenty of space for the kids to run around on the grassy areas by the Hastings River.

Tastings on Hastings celebrates the people, produce and natural beauty of northern New South Wales. It makes for a great weekend getaway and there are numerous budget accommodation options available.

Port Macquarie is a small coastal town about 386 kilometres north-east of the Sydney CBD. It’s about a 4 hour and 15-minute drive via the M1, Pacific Highway and A1. It also has its own airport and it’s about a 1-hour flight from Sydney. You can also get there via public transport (bus and train services). Catch a train to Wauchope station on the North Coast line and then take a 40-minute connecting bus ride to Port Macquarie.
