The Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival is an annual world-class jazz event with a focus on women. The festival, which runs for almost two weeks, showcases talented women in jazz hailing from Australia as well as other parts of the world. It was conceptualized by the Sydney International Jazz Festival, and supported by the City of Sydney as well as the Sharon Lee Foundation.
Patrons can look forward to a line-up featuring intimate trios as well as 17-piece bands performing a diverse range of styles and influences each year. The concerts take place at different locations in Sydney, and prices vary from $5 to $66, depending on the establishment and type of ticket purchased. Attendees may opt to purchase ticket packages inclusive of dinners when available.
Previous Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival performers have included Angela Davis, Frances Madden, Judy Bailey, Gian Slater, and more. Most shows take place during the evenings, with some locations offering dinner and show ticket packages. One of the partner venues of the last few years has been Foundry616, located at 616 Harris Street, Ultimo, Sydney.
