The St. Ives Medieval Faire is a unique festival which is held at the St. Ives Showgrounds in September every year.
Come along and immerse yourself in medieval times with authentic recreations of the sights and sounds of this unique period of time.
Each year, the festival presents a range of fun performances and activities including jousting tournaments, a Viking battle, crusader tournament, trebuchet exhibitions, hawking and archery. There will also be market stalls, a grand parade and authentic artisans selling a range of products for you to enjoy.
Head over to the Medieval Village and experience life at the height of the middle ages. You will find villages that have been recreated to bring back the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th centuries and watch people re-enact cooking, craft making, blacksmithing and painting.
Watch a live Viking battle, watch a trebuchet launch watermelons in to the air, watch expert archers as they try and hit a bullseye, a Kings Tourney, a foot solders Knight Tournament and Birds of Prey demonstrations.
There will also be a huge range of market stalls selling all kinds of wares including jewellery, armour, drinking horns and woven goods. Many stall-holders hand-make their goods, so there will also be live demonstrations where you can watch the experts at work.
Kids will also love the St Ives Medieval Faire with an animal farm, juggling workshops, archery tag, knight school, pony rides and puppet shows, there is something for kids of all ages.
Make sure to dress up in your medieval best as there will be costume competitions over the weekend.
St. Ives is located just 23kms north of Sydney and you can get there by taking the M1 by car, or taking a train to Macquarie Park station and then catching the 197 Mona Vale bus and alighting at the showgrounds.
