The Eastern University Games represent the largest of three regional university events in Australia for tertiary school students. It takes place during the mid-year break for New South Wales universities.
There are around 16 individual and team sports categories to choose from, including basketball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, touch football, tennis, futsal, and netball. The games are open to students aged 18 to 26 years old, who are enrolled in most universities located in the ACT and New South Wales. Teams are required to qualify by participating in regional university games. Students who are interested to join are encouraged to ask their schools for information on trial dates in order to have adequate time to prepare.
Winners from the Eastern University Games will be given a chance to qualify at the Australian University Games at the Gold Coast. The games are not only a great chance to showcase your competitive streak in sports, but it enables you to meet other students from other parts of Australia as well as online students and those studying in other courses and campuses. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and commitment.
