Bringing together stories from Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, Guatemala and Puerto Rico, the Cine Latino Film Festival gives you the chance to celebrate the biggest and best films that Latin America has to offer.
The festival will showcase dozens of films at Palace Cinemas in Leichhardt and Paddington – known for providing Sydney’s most renowned cinematic experiences. Although only select Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America boast successful film industries, the festival has a strong representation across the board.
This 18 years and over event will leave you entertained, awestruck, stimulated and inspired by some of the most talented emerging and established Latin American filmmakers.

Leichhardt is an inner-city suburb that’s 7 kilometres west of the CBD via the A4. It is also easily accessible via public transport (bus or train services). Petersham is the nearest train station and it’s on the Main Suburban Line.
Paddington is Paddington is an inner-city Sydney suburb located about 10 minutes south-east of the CBD by car via the M1. There are also public transport options to get there (bus and train services). Museum Station on the City Circle route is the closest train station and from there you can catch a bus to Paddington.
The Cine Latino Film Festival showcases stories from Latin America throughout Australia for two weeks. The films are screened at the Palace Cinema branches in Sydney as well as in Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Films from Brazil, Paraguay, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Chile are shown throughout the two-week event, the biggest Latin American cinema festival in Australia. Attendees can look forward to special events, such as premieres during the opening night which is followed by a party with Latin food and drinks. The festivities also include the occasional gathering featuring themed nights focusing on a Latin American country. Films and events are curated by an international and Latin American film committee.
Tickets may be booked at the cinema box offices from 11AM to 8:30PM every day until tickets are sold out; keep in mind that cinemas will only be selling tickets for films shown at their respective locations. Surcharges may apply for credit card purchases, although there are no booking fees on top of the ticket prices. Alternatively, you may purchase tickets online or by phone. The General Admission ticket categories include: Palace Golden Movie Club, Palace Movie Club, Concession (senior citizens, full-time students, health care card holders, and pensioners are eligible), and Adult passes. Multi-film purchase passes are available for 5, 10, and 20 passes; group bookings for 20 individuals or more will also be available. All Cine Latino Film Festival tickets are non-refundable once paid for. Patrons are recommended to avoid lines by collecting tickets at least thirty minutes before the sessions.
Catch the films from 10AM to 10PM at participating Palace Cinemas in Sydney. Palace Movie Club Members can enjoy discounted rates to the films. The films are open to patrons aged 18 and above, unless otherwise stated.
