Chippendale is a small inner-city suburb that’s just two kilometres south of the Sydney CBD. Public transport services are available to get you there (buses and trains) if you want to avoid traffic. Redfern is the closest train station and Chippendale is a short walk from there.
The American Essentials Film Festival showcases the latest and best indie movies from the United States. All movies shown feature an American cast, and have been produced in the US within the last year. The festival includes a wide range of film genres including adventure, thriller, comedy, horror, coming of age, classics, noir, social justice, political, biography, and romance.
The indie film festival circuit travels through Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane for several days in each city each year. In Sydney, the films will be screened at the Palace Central Sydney Cinemas. Take note that complimentary member tickets from Palace Cinemas won’t be entertained for the festival, but you may use a Palace Cinemas gift card to purchase your tickets.
The audience can look forward to exclusive events such as the pre-film function held on the Opening Night, which are catered and have a live band followed by a film screening. The Special Event is another noteworthy segment of the festival; it enables the audience to watch a certain film shortly after its world premier. The movies shown at the American Essentials Film Festival are open to audiences aged 18 years old and above, unless otherwise specified. Kids may attend the family-friendly films, if any, during the festival. All the films are played in English, so there’s no need to worry about subtitles.
The Palace Central Sydney Cinemas are located at 28 Broadway, Level 3, Central Park Mall, Chippendale, New South Wales.
